Physical Therapy
The primary objectives of physical therapy are to:
• Evaluate strength, mobility and coordination.
• Improve and maintain body function or motion and increase strength.
• Relieve pain
• Improve balance awareness to decrease risk for falls.

Our physical therapists develop an individualized rehabilitation plan for each patient combining evaluation, therapeutic exercise and hands on treatment techniques. Therapeutic devices used during physical therapy include electric stimulation for muscle re-education and spasm reduction, ultrasound to stimulate tissue healing, and heat and cold therapies to decrease muscle irritation.
Injuries and persistent ailments prevent many normally active people from staying active in their favorite sport or activity. Those injuries and ailments can take much of the fun out of life. MMC’s Rehabilitation program helps people of all ages resume an active lifestyle or return to full athletic competition following an injury. Whether you are an athlete, or weekend warrior, or someone just beginning to develop a more active lifestyle, our professionals coordinate each person’s rehabilitation program.

Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy assists people to become more independent in their job, housework, school setting or leisure time. The patient’s primary goal is to achieve their highest level of independence in their daily living activities. Although this goal may be different for each client, occupational therapy staff use a variety of activities, techniques and equipment to assist each person toward their goal.
