Nutritional Services - 685-5460
In addition to providing high quality and nutritional meals, the Nutritional Services
Department offers grouped and individual counseling. Education Classes are available
for diabetes and heart disease. MMC’s diabetes program is recognized by the American
Diabetes Association as meeting their standards for education. A registered dietitian is
an integral part of the Cardiac Rehab program offered through the hospital.
Registered Dietitians provide one-to-one counseling for both hospital patients and
outpatient clients who require medical nutritional therapy for disease such as diabetes,
heart disease and kidney disease. They also counsel for weight loss, allergies and other
nutritional related areas. The primary goal of these sessions is to promote a supportive
atmosphere to discuss the importance of good health through proper nutrition.
Through our dietitian outreach programs, nutritional counseling and services are
available at Bad River Health and Wellness Clinic, Red Cliff Community Health Center,
Mellen Manor, and Bayfield Aging Program.
Appointments can be made by calling the Nutritional Services Department directly,
although physician referrals are preferred. A fee is charged for outpatient counseling and
nutritional classes.
